Description Here's the first picture of the sunset I saw this evening that I promised Emu. I just went outside and I saw this, and booked it back into the house to grab my camera. I took about 60 pictures of this sunset, and this was one of the best. Enjoy!

Well, you can't say you don't notice the noise levels in the darker areas of the photograph, but all that really means is that, if you got so many s on it already, you've just got a really incredible composition

Really? 'Cause I thought it was kinda blurry in spots, it wasn't that centered... thank you VERY much nevertheless!

You know, as a matter of fact, ever since I was a kid, I've been dreaming about taking an amazing picture of this Saguaro Cactus that's in our yard, and silhouetting it against the sun, and getting the same mountain that's in the picture in the picture I've been dreaming of... and putting it on a postcard. And now, the possibility is realized. Thank you very much!

purple-whirlpool In reply to Iror [2007-08-19 07:42:49 +0000 UTC]

Personally I don't think it matters that it's not 100% in focus. It's hard when your using telephoto, well it's almost impossible with my camera anyway! But if you were to print that on a regular size postcard you wouldn't notice any blurriness.
I just think it's an extraordinary shot and well worth printing.

Nice!! Its wierd, I'm seeing some discoloration in the black areas, maybe its a problem with the uploading , I don't know, look into that. At that many millimeters using a tripod will ensure sharpest possible images, maybe its the small image size but it seems not all the way sharp, not for your camera anyway. Great capture!

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Iror In reply to GalenJosephThoreau [2007-08-30 01:43:23 +0000 UTC]

Oh, that's not disloloration, it's just a house and a tree. Nothing wrong with the camera, or the uploading.

GalenJosephThoreau In reply to Iror [2007-08-30 05:01:53 +0000 UTC]

not that, look at the top cloud bank, I can see some block like clusters of grayish and yellowish pixels, that all

Iror In reply to GalenJosephThoreau [2007-08-17 06:04:39 +0000 UTC]

Yah, I'll admit that I could've used a tripod, but over here in monsoon season, the clouds move really fast, and so I didn't want to take the risk of wasting awesome pictures by going in and getting the tripod... I gotta remember to bring it out with me beforehand... thx for letting me know!

gmo... like I always say about all my sky pictures, there's absolutely no way that I can actually capture the whole awesomeness of the sunset with a picture... in other words, it sure was amazing.
