Description
The Medusa is a great character and I enjoyed painting this darker style image. I hope by using a symmetrical composition and lighting effects the focus is brought to her face and mesmerizing gaze.The idea behind the subject of this artwork was a powerful sorceress who has cast a spell to make herself appear as the Medusa and hypnotise her "prey". Perhaps the writers amongst you have some other ideas as to what is happening or could elaborate on this theme?

Great job at conveying your emotion then, for I definitely feel as though she is about to fight someone or hurt them. She seems as though she is angry at a past wrong or something. At minimum, she seems like she is definitely a gorgon, and that if I looked her in the eye I would turn to stone. Lovely job ^.^

I always find it interesting how when she is in this half snake form she has the stigmas of supposedly being ugly, but most of the designs I've seen including the ones I've made I see her as quite beautiful. and this is no exception. she still has an exceptional beauty here.

I love the detail in this, adn the expression and posture are epic. you managed to make her seductive without making her slutty or lewd, which is a talent i see little of nowadays, and that alone is impressive.
the tribal on her left shoulder doesn't distort/curve around with her shoulder, though, which gives that shoulder a slightly flat look. if that makes no sense to you, use a compass to draw a circle onthe front of your shoulder, and look in the mirror: it won't look round, even though your tools say it is.

I love the snakes swirling around her face, somehow it reminds me of a bit of a celtic knot.
She's absolutely glowing with power, mesmerizing with both the snakes as her hair as well as her own form.
I can so imagine the rustling of scales being her background music as she tries to seduce her victims

He always felt bad when turning down a girl at a party. He felt sorry for flirting with her when it turned out to have been a mistake, because she wasn't at all like he expected. But then, he couldn't just stop flirting to prevent this from happening, could he?
This night it was exceptionally bad. That beautiful dark haired girl with the mysterious make-up and tattoos had fascinated him, captivated all of his attention and just drawn him into a conversation, which turned out to be terribly boring. She was vain, fishing for compliments all the time and getting more and more bad-tempered when he failed to give her those. He was searching for a way to get out of this smoothly and decided to make her dislike him. He stopped listening to her, instead letting his eyes sweep the rest of the party, here and there resting on other beautiful girls, though not as beautiful as her.
"Sorry, what did you say?" he asked innocently when he noticed that she had stopped talking and started looking at him expectantly.
"Do you know who I am?" she repeated.
"I think you didn't mention your name, why?"
"Because if you did, you wouldn't treat me like that." With this, she took a step back and suddenly her body started to shift and wriggle.
He stumbled away from her in surprise, but his eyes were glued to her changing form in horror. Her legs seemed to grow together, skin beneath the short skirt turning into scales and growing longer and longer. Her eyes were suddenly blazing with an evil fire, but the most disconcerting effect was that of her hair coming to life.
Suddenly, the room, the party, the people - everything vanished except her. Now he was standing on the steps leading into a vast temple of dark and heavy stone. And before him stood a creature that was more snake than woman, balanced on a long, curling tail. Her hair was moving and hissing, sleak snakes looking at him with their slitted eyes.
He started at her, and their eyes met. Night fell around him.
