Description Prudential Assurance Building right in the centre of Nottingham is one of this city's landmarks and a masterpiece by Alfred Waterhouse, the grand maestro of the Victorian style. Born in Liverpool, he was the brother of the founders of PWC (the "W" stands for Waterhouse ;D) and Fieldfisher (formerly known as Field Fisher Waterhouse). And yet, to me, he's the most successful of the brothers, since his designs became iconic and forever changed the look of the country - definitely for the better.

This is very nice, I usually do not like post-medieval structures but I can see that this one is quite beautiful, especially compared with other, contemporary structures... thank you for sharing!

Normally I'm the same (as evident from my gallery ;D), but I have a deep respect for Victorian architecture. I like how it takes inspiration in Medieval and Renaissance England and manages to tastefully incorporate common elements from these periods into essentially modern buildings. Historical revival is a very tricky style and can easily be tacky, but I think they got it right in England.

Thanks a lot ;D This is not quite a bank, it's an insurance company, but I don't see why Gringotts wouldn't look more or less the same.
