Bonny was caught giving food and water to a captive. The crew did not appreciate this, and as punishment marooned them both on a desert island.

They were given one crate of food and water that would last a week.

The crew that kicked her out had not realised that this captive was from an incredibly wealthy family. If they had followed her lead and delivered him back in excellent condition, they could have been rewarded. But now he belonged to Bonny alone. She could get rich off his random if she found a way off this island.
