Description here are some Concept drawings of some possible Axe designs for Judgment. Although I forgot to put in the Original design which I prefer, still it's always good to see what other options I have.

the one on the top is sorta a remix of the original Axe.

the one on the right has a primitive look to it.

the one on the bottom is a more technological style, with the back of the axe having a key theme to it. which goes with his background of being locked away in prison.

I don't really know what category this falls under since DA doesn't really have a place for weapon concept drawings. and this isn't some fantasy Axe either. so I can't put it in Sword and Sorcery.

What if it starts off as a standard fire axe but with the toe and heel of the blade extend and gain sharper tips like a bardiche. [link] Then the toe continues to expand and curves further back, or sharply turns back (at a right angle) and extends far back parallel to the rear spike and curves slightly more. So it looks like a combination of a fire axe, a bardiche, and the grim reaper's scythe.

He's a prisoner right so maybe more along the lines of a pick axe like the chain-gangs use to break rocks or like a fire axe something more practical and believable.

it's sorta a fire axe, meets execution axe.

Hmm........

What's a prisoner doing with an axe? Maybe go with something that looks more improve, maybe? I don't know how that would look, though...

you have a point. but I thinking something along the lines of a fire axe.. also I have an idea for a new axe. as if it was made from parts of the prison. like the pole part is a bar. If you've seen some of the concept for Bioshock, they get actual pictures of things and then incorporate them into the art.

OIC. Yeah, maybe a fireaxe sounds more practical. Only a true madman uses one... who else would attack fire with an axe?
But it sounds like since John was executed by the electric chair, this is a long time ago. Perhaps a pickaxe used by prisoners when they hit rocks for no reason with them?
But I really do want BioShock. It has such an interesting art style to it. The demo for the game was really cool

you bring up a great point. and he does have the old black and white stripes

Well, the electric chair was used as a method of executing prisoners from 1924 to 1976. Perhaps research on prisons during that time period might bring good results
But from what I'm thinking, a few possible weapons he could use are a fireaxe, a pickaxe, and possibly a bush hook

but I've never heard of a bush hook before

Oh, okay Upsides and downsides to the emotes on this site
But maybe Johnny could use something that could be found in a prison. If he improvs something, it has to be a weapon that couldn't be found easily during inspection

I'm a GENIUS!!!

Bush hooks... Here's a photo of one [link] roducts/73348.jpg&height=200&width=175
I don't know how that kind of thing is used to cut bushes or whatever the hell they're used for. But the thing with gardening tools is that when they're used for purposes other than gardening, the results can be kinda... kinda messy. But I don't think bush hooks are as scary looking as axes, unfortunately

the broader shape of the heads - the flat one would be good for dragging down and pulling back, like tearing at flesh, but the top two are more like cleavers - more force can be propelled into the swing and they create a wider wound - as well as sheer impact force... oh gods i am randing again - owell

but you are a fantastic drawer, teach me someday
