Aoki-chan for *ryuuen !Aoki is a she, by the way!
Sketched with pencil, inked with cheap ballpen, moved in ImageReady to adjust, fixed anatomy in OpenCanvas3, then lineart enhancement + coloring in Sai, finally finished with Illustrator-- with the circle thing.
Long process. This is how i work. : c

Wow, your process really is long! But it's more fun that way, don't you think? It's like having the best of everything at your disposal.
I love the simple shading; it gives her a very clean look. The stroke around her makes her really pop, too. :3 Oh, I also really love the rounded edges of the background. Very nice.

It takes a while for me to get lineart and such scanned, though... The scanner is on a different computer, and someone's always using it. @A@ That, and I forget.
