Yet another chibi style for Oboe!I actually really like how this one turned out; it feels a little bit more true to the actual animal's body shape (apart from the crest/claws/face shape which are features I just can't get myself to remove), though translated to a more humanized body plan. Perhaps this could be the form I use for Animal Crossing stuff or similar things? :0

Hehe, a very fun and entertaining take! I'm personally not too fond of creatures with "mascot-stance/proportions" in general, but when mixed with a interesting design and personality, I can still appreciate it. Here I really like how much natural detail you've kept in. Say, the feet are cartoonishly plantigrade but they still has a lot of Β detail such as scales, claws and specialized toes. The simplified fluff and feathers are really attractive and I also enjoy the hue shifts (especially the orange-black) a lot.
(The description confuse me a tad bit, the " it feels a little bit more true to..." seem to refer to another piece of art but I'm not sure of which. Maybe you could add in a link there?

It depends for me; sometimes it comes across really well, and sometimes it just seems silly depending on the art style, design, or even species of the character depicted. I wanted to kind of do a mixture of chibi styles as well as show off her design in this "form," hence the posing. One of my favorite parts of Oboe is the color gradients she has, and I'm slowly but surely refining and choosing a technique to consistently depict that part of her.
Ah, I was talking about the wing structures on a real Yi qi! There's a pretty good skeletal, as well as some reconstructions, that can be seen in this article (I didn't read through the text, but I've seen the images elsewhere so those at least are legitimate). Oboe's been switched around a lot species-wise, but I finally settled on Yi since it has a ton of characteristics that I'd like to use as a character meant to represent myself!

I think it's a lot of fun following the development of your persona, seeing how you experiment and search your way ahead.

She's so important to me, n I feel like I finally have a representation of myself that I actually like haha,, plus chibi style is really nice for experimenting with character expressions and actions!!
