Description Piece #4 of my Senior Project!

THAT'S ALL FOLKS!! BWAHAHAHAHA
Ahem... Yeah, so this is the last piece and, as you can see, I've placed it on Wendy's wedding day. ^_^ Isn't her dress pretty? it's based off an actual gown from the 1930's, though it's much prettier in real life (in my opinion anyway). The whole thing is a lot more.... uh... well not as bright or sharply colored as I'd had in mind, but oh well, it kinda fits the mood. Speaking of which, this goes with the song "I Will Think of You" by Laura Browne Sorneson which was featured in the Lifetime show Army Wives. It's just a very melancholy song and is really more suited for a situation in which someone's passed, but in a way you can put it as Wendy's treating is as though her childhood's gone.

And here's the lyrics:
I will think of you
when i pass this way
and I’ll hold onto
every memory made
and I know you're gone
and life goes on
but I will think of you
I’ll think of you

CHORUS
how do I tell you goodbye
its fine to say what’s done is done
just move on into the sun
but I cant find the light

so I will think of you when the rain falls
and I will drink to you when the night calls
and I hope you as I’m letting go
that I will think of you

how do I tell you goodbye
its fine to say what’s done is done
just move on into the sun
but I cant find the light

a rainy night in LA
a long talk on that day in may
the first time that you looked my way
and I will think of you
when the dawn breaks
and the night is thru
when the sun awakes
the I’ll look up high
at the same blue sky
and I will think of you

CHORUS
how do I tell you goodbye
its fine to say what’s done is done
just move on into the sun
but I can’t find the light
No I can’t find the light
so I will think of you

Very pretty, I love this. Like the background, and teh dress (I read that wedding dresses varied by decade, until the 40's, when Victorian became the standard) So many ways this can be interpretted!

lol thanks! And that's very true, but even after the Victorian period, you hit the 20's and flappers and such, so I added a little of that taste to it, even though I think I set this in the 1930's.... But thanks again! My professors were astounded that I made up most of the car (for some reason, no one has that angle lol)

This is stunningly beautiful and so bittersweet. I love the soft colours and Wendy's expression. Peter Pan is such a sad book, then ending always makes me cry. Though I suppose it's more tragic for Wendy, Tinkerbell etc., because they always remember and love Peter, but he just keeps moving and forgets them all.

Isn't it? I always hated that about the original book, but I've been such a big fan of Peter since I was a kid, I just can't stop loving him. I agree it's more tragic for the women in his life, but then Spielberg came along and made Hook!

OMG - HOOK IS WIN! Even if it's ridiculous, I LOVE it. The soundtrack is beautiful too. John Williams at his best.

Yeah, Peter Pan was my mother's favourite book as a child and so it was one of the very first things she read to me. From a toddler on I wanted to be a good!pirate. Captain Hook was my mortal foe. I used to set traps for him all around the house, especially on Christmas because I was obsessed with the idea that he was going to kidnap Santa and steal my pressies. I left 'oison' on the mantelpiece besides the cookies and milk one Christmas (a vile concoction of mud, ketchup & toothepaste) for Hook to drink. My brother came in that night totally SMASHED and downed it. Good times!

Omigod you have the best stories! Did your brother realize what it was? I don't know that I wanted to be a pirate---methinks it has something to do with my inability to take direction ---but I always wanted to be Wendy, though I'd carry bug-spray to take care of Tink
