And yeah, In my headcanon smaller nations like Germaneigh and Great Braytain gave Equestria and the Zebras the technology for their first weapons. It is kinda hard to imagine they jump from guards with Spears to soldiers with assault rifles in kinda 10 years without help <.<

That and it's hard to maintain that level of advancement without a nation willing to industrialize on a huge scale and push the limits of newfound manufacturing techniques! I mean, real life germany has always been a nation of innovation, so why wouldn't the Equestrian equivalent do the same?
