Description

Inspired by the HD release of Final Fantasy 9 on the switch, I wanted to make a Garnet wallpaper for my desktop! This game has so many memories for me ... I still get teared up when I hear the soundtrack. I can't help it!
I wanted this piece to be of Garnet as she is early on in the game; full of hope and aspirations to save everything. Plus, THAT HAIR. <3

I struggled a lot with the proportions of her face and was using warp/transform on those eyeballs right up until the end, haha. I learned a LOT from working on this piece, and while I didn't record much of my process, I hope that after a few more paintings I'll be able to share what I've learned more effectively.
I spent about 14 hours total with this piece, so not very efficient just yet. :/
