Description G.K. Chesterton's Father Brown, in all his umbrella'd, brown parcel-carrying glory. If you don't know the character, then GOOD GOD MAN GET THEE TO GUTENBERG AND READ THE DAMN THINGS!!! They are brilliant stories, Brown makes for a wonderful detective thanks to his insight into human evil, and they are just a joy to read. They make me grin like a loon while I'm reading them on the subway.

I know it's really only a sketch, and should therefore go under Sketches, but I love him an awfully lot as is. Perhaps I will ink him at some point, but for now, I shan't.

I began to read them
and always enjoy them.

A story very special for me was
"The Dagger with Wings" cuz
the murder uses (somehow) the same 'Modus Operandi'
that my country's dictatorship

When I read this line, I thought he was the most badass priest to ever have existed.

I have known father Brown well since 1981...you have captured his sly innocence perfectly!

Ooh, this is one of my favorite Father Brown stories next to "Miracle at Moon Crescent."

It's very clever how the whole thing works out with the packages he carries. I may need to read it again; it's remarkable.

I just recently picked up "The Complete Father Brown" and am enjoying them thoroughly. I always imagined him as older, but your drawing really captures his kindly personality and wide-eyed innocence... both of which diabolically (?) misleading.

Ooo! I have been meaning to tell you! My school's departmental T-shirts have a G.K.C. quote on the back, illustrated by Tim Powers, one of our writers-in-residence.

'I wish I were a jellyfish, that could not fall down stairs...' It starts like that. Know it? I haven't memorised it because it's on the back of the shirt, lol.

Anyway...OOO NEW MURDER MYSTERIES!
