My gallery is filled with so much blue works and I'm not even doing it on purpose =u=;

I must veer away from bluuuue

Anyway new work!

Done for Ang InK 's catalog. I was able to apply and join them this year. ^_^

For anyone who's curious, Ang Ink is an organization of illustrators, committed to the creation and promotion of illustration for children here in the Philippines. (Thank you copy-paste!)

The catalog will hold all the illustrators under InK and as members, we are given one page wherein we can do anything we want- be wild and creative. The catch is, we need to give 40 copies of our page plus 40 copies of our business card.

At first I thought we were going to make one page then 40 copies of our business card. I was already thinking of wild ideas for my page- pop ups and whatnot, but then my friend , who's also a member, told me that we were supposed to make 40 copies of each. Big downer. ;_; I had to tone down my wild ideas.

I opt to instead, show my personality through this digital painting. And these are the points I considered: I like crossing fantasy with reality. They usually show you some kind of story. And I'm not very into cluttered compositions and instead veer toward big negative space compositions. My works are usually vibrant. And I like adding small details.

After thinking about those points plus considering that I want to put a dragon and my character Mochi in my work, this was born. This isn't exactly the design that I submitted- my contact info was on the corner instead of the sig and there was a small envelope that contained my business card. I wasn't able to take a photo before giving it to them but the artwork is all the same.

I'm really happy with how the tree turned out. I'm improving!
I should work on making better reflections next. >.<;
