Hi deviantart members!Here's my latest 3D artwork. It shows a scorpion of the maurus palmatus type.
I tried to recreate it in 3D. Cinema 4D and various SSS-Plugins were involved.
The background is done with Photoshop 7.
Critiques are very welcome

very good work man, i haven`t critique because that is very good, only in some place of the background, exactly the pivot point btw background and legs of scorpion small like floated, another is just awesome, and the illumination of the scorpion is a bit more from nessecery in my opinion, if was illumination with a bit yellow or brown color like the scene light,have will be better, just i thing by that way, then it will be the most 3D realistic scorpion of the planet... Congratulations, for a details of the scorpion and the texture is awesome, keep it up,,, congratulations again

Critique:
I'd say that the only thing about this is a little bit of the texturing, at least if you're going for realistic. The body of this particular scorpion is a lot shinier, it has a kind of transparent look, too. The bump map might be a little too heavy as well.

it really just speaks for itself. Love the attention to the hairs on it's legs and the faint shadows in the sand caused by the small dunes. The lighting is incredible<3
