Description
From a series of photos taken in my parents' small town of Benthuizen, on a gorgeous and peaceful Saturday morning. Taken with my Minox 35GT with automatic shutter speed, trying my best to not over/underexpose the shot....edit: tweaked colors, improved balance of light/shadow

Ik studeer in Nijmegen, ben geboren in Leiden, en mn ouders en zusje wonen nu in Waalre (vlakbij Eindhoven).

Ik studeerde in Den Haag, maar allang niet meer..inmiddels al 4 jaar aan het werk in Amsterdam.

Bedrijfscommunicatie. Wat studeerde jij dan? En wat voor werk doe je nu? Den Haag is anders ook mooi hoor. 
Zijn mooie foto's. Almost There is niet herkenbaar Nijmegen hihi, maar wel mooi. The Canadian Cemetary, is dat in de buurt van de Graafse Weg of Jonkersbosch? Waarschijnlijk weet je dat niet meer
Als je wat van t Nijmeegse studentenleven afweet, ik woon vlakbij Phocas, de roeivereniging. Met uitzicht op het Maas Waal kanaal. Daar kun je echt best veel mooie foto's maken, met zonsondergangen enzo.
Mja ik duik nu maar es mn bed in. Tis veels te laat.

This is a real beautiful photo, the hues are surreal, like painted, and the duck is perfectly placed. I just can't help feeling there's way too much sky and the division of proportions sky/water is made inelegant by that. I would crop off quite a bit of the sky to make it all tighter. Just my two cents

i see what you mean about the imbalance, i wish the reflection of the trees wasnt cut off, but alas...the phtoo was taken so. As for cropping the sky out, i'm too much in love with the blues and the clouds there. and at least there is a balance on the right side of the image.

thanks alot! yeah i personally like the composition i managed to get, which was tricky considering the camera i used had a fixed focal length (i.e. no zooming in or out), i couldnt even switch lenses. but i love my little Minox!

But I'm sure I wouldn't be such a good photographer. I personally prefer painting... maybe because I can maipulate the stuff the way I want to

F**CKING beautiful man, netherlands eh? It reminds me a lot of LOTR when Frodo, Sam and Golem trek through the marsh, the whole scenary idea except this is like the happy version XD <3 it.

That's a great shot! Why has no-one commented on it? It could use a contrast boost, as it is the darkest part of the image is solid in the left hand edge making that the heaviest point in the image, in fact, skip the contrast boost and consider a small amount of dodging and burning.

hehe thanks again. and yeah like i said in my reply to your other comment, i haven't really done any dodging and burning before. i did a while ago and screwed up the photo...hehe.
this whole series of shots was as hard to balance out in post processing as it was taking them. much a huge variety of lightness, it was difficult to bring out the darkenes foreground in all its detail without losing the reds yellows and blues in the sky.
