Description
This flintlock musket was made for a farmer who needed to deal with gophers eating his crops and did some hunting on the side. It can fire a solid shot, but more often it is used as a shotgun. It was made by a country gunsmith of middling skill and is serviceable, if not exemplary. Once this weapon was used in a riot against high taxes, never the less disgruntled but undisciplined and untrained farmers do not fair well against well drilled royal musketeers, cavaliers and cannons and it's user was lucky enough to get away with his life once his line fell apart. Even so this weapon continued as a family heirloom and was well looked after allowing it five generations of use before it was finally stowed it in the attic after it's last user bought a newer break action shotgun. After a few more generations it was found, given a bit of restoration and was sold to a collector of antique firearms for a decent sum.
