Description As promised to those who have been asking about my soft cel shading process, here it is.
I tried to keep it simple and basic, I'm sorry if it's too lengthy or complicated still~
This tutorial is for tablet users and uses Photoshop CS6. I don't know if it's compatible with other software such as PaintTool SAI, GIMP and the like. ^^'
Finished piece Ā

I hope it helps you, don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

Hey, sorry if you get asked this a bunch, but I was curious on how you did your lines. May you please tell me or maybe, if you have the time, make a tutorial?

IllusriArt In reply to OreoTheVulpine [2015-07-05 19:32:52 +0000 UTC]

Sorry for the late reply hun, I've been away from this channel. I don't do anything special for the lines, just use Photoshop's 'hard round pressure' brush and make the size very very small, around 5%. Hope this helps! c:

um.. im new this this type of coloring style, so can you explain what's the difference from cell shading and regular coloring? sorry if i ask a stupid question >.<

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

IllusriArt In reply to ixMehh [2014-08-23 20:21:32 +0000 UTC]

I'm not sure what you mean by 'regular' coloring ehe, but basically this is a style of coloring that combines Cel Shading and Soft Shading (like this picture - cel shading is on the left, and soft shading is the right one:i.imgur.com/tUBMm.png ). I hope that helps explain a bit! c:

Oh it's interesting ! But what is eyesdropper ? (i'm using SAI)

Still a little complex for me but i wish one day to be as good as you <3

Your lightning/shading is too amazing !

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

IllusriArt In reply to CaptainMisuzu [2014-02-01 09:18:42 +0000 UTC]

The eyedropper tool lets you pick colors from a picture by clicking on them, and it is in Sai here:i1090.photobucket.com/albums/iā€¦
Thank you so much hun, I wish you the best with your shading!

How do you do the line art for this?

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

IllusriArt In reply to zombiesponge [2014-01-28 09:24:02 +0000 UTC]

I just use Photoshop's default Hard Round Pressure Brush at a very small size - about 5 px - and draw! ^^
To make the lines thicker, I duplicate my lineart layer. c:
