A very interesting take on the classic Cthulhu design. I've got to admit that I like the tail.

It's very unique and stands out from most other cthulhu works simply because you chose to incorporate him into a more sickly and crude texture. Also, great job on the skybox.

I was pushing the alien aspect because usually you see a version pushing the cephalopod aspect and like on Ancient Aliens I have to assume that the descriptions of Cthulhu are a primitive man's interpretation of some alien form. Anyhow, I'm glad you picked up on it and let me know.

Seems Like A Combination Of Cthulhu And Godzilla, But I Think The Asians Would Be Scared More Of Cthulhu Than The Latter. Good Work Though, All In All I like It.

I think a VS. movie would be great all of the Japanese cinema/tv giants, Robots, monsters and their respective nemisi vs Cthulhu... My money is on Cthulhu.

The design reminds me of something similar that Bernie Wrightson did one, had a big ole tail like this but no wings at all. Make him feel a more like a kaiju than an elder god but I like it.

I hadn't read many of these. Thanks for comments, the wings are small because I thought they would be vestigial and/or in water used sort of like the smaller top fins on a fish. Something that large and heavy could not be supported even by very large wings for air flight they woudl tear away or be too heavy to be useful.

It's hard to get a different interpretation of Cthulhu's image when almost every image looks the same. This is very original.

I like the sagging muscles in his chest and belly, and the really fat tail brings out the lumbering motions of the character. The details in the head are supurb. The different layers of facemeats.
I do think his wings should be bigger. They were a pretty notable feature in his description in the story, so having them be so small doesn't seem right to me.

Anyhhway, great job. I particularly like the direction you took with the head. It's hard to find pictures of Cthulhu that stray from the flabby, literal interpretation in favor of a more abstract vision.
