That irresponsible hypocrite, once again neglecting to take his meds. It's called criminal negligence, Lupin!
And Severus always has to be there to mop up Gryffindor disasters.

Um, not irresponsible if he locked himself up so no one else was hurt. I guess it would be accurate to say he was negligent of his own body. Although I love the art, it is amazingly poignant, Snape is extremely OOC. Snape still holds a grudge towards Lupin. (The proof is that he leaked Remus werewolf status.) Once the Wolfsbane was delivered, he would not give Remus a second thought.Β

Lupin failed to take his meds the night he went to the Shrieking Shack to catch Peter, and it was *only* after that enormous piece of irresponsibility (which could easily have killed three students, one teacher, one escaped convict, and any residents of Hogsmeade who happened to be out enjoying the evening) that Snape revealed Lupin's lycanthropy. Lupin had no excuse for that. None whatsoever. He deserved to be outed, since he had demonstrated that he could not handle his illness responsibly.

I was commenting in the context of this fan art. Since we donβt know what happened here, automatically assuming βcriminal negligenceβ goes too far. You want to rant about Remusβ behavior in the third book? Go ahead. Iβm here to enjoy and discuss fan art.Β

You were the one who started discussing what sort of people Lupin and Snape were ("not irresponsible" and "holds a grudge" over an insignificant thing like a murder attempt) rather than the drawing itself. (My opinion on the drawing: excellent depiction of Severus; I don't know who the figure in white is; bloody-all-over Lupin is a bit much.) I won't continue to discuss the characters with you since it's obvious we'll never agree, and there's no point in arguing about it. Peace!Β

No, I do not expect us to agree, I just do not like your mischaracterization of what I wrote. I was pretty agnostic about whether Remus was irresponsible or not given we donβt know the story on which the art piece is based. I was saying not to assume in the negative (your criminally negligent comment at the beginning) because of POA since the piece is clearly not from POA. He may have acted responsibly, he may have not acted responsibly. No way to know. That is the point.
Yes, there was a murder attempt, by Sirius when they were teenagers. Thatβs who Severus should and does righteously hate. Remus had nothing to do with setting Severus up, he was the unwilling weapon and fellow victim. The Ministry would have happily disposed of Remus as a teenager if something had happened to Severus back then.
Yet Snape had a huge grudge against Lupin in POA while Remus was acting responsibly. Severus did his best to reveal Lupins werewolf status to the kids indirectly months before Remus skipped his meds at the end of the book. That is a nasty grudge not based on either negligence or a murder attempt from Lupin. (Thus, my comment that the Snape in this art piece is OOC since he demonstrates caring.)
I split hairs, but to get at the motivation of characters, it is worth it to me. Have a good life.

Everything about it is perfect.
Sirius' expression, lost, beyond ... it's so perfect.
You brought me to tears the first time I saw it, and I can't remember whether or not I have commented before.
But, if that is so, it deserves another.
Thank you for this.

I looked at this and went, "ooooooow... that looked real.. ooouch!" lol. great job on the wounds, of course, and I really loved the whole idea, with the three of them in that situation, and the poses of each of them. Poor sirius, I wish he could reach him. *sniff* so sad...
