"Hang on tight, Kyle! I'll get us out of here!"

"I don't think there's much for me to hang on to, Kay...!!"

In some continuities, Cookie has known Kay almost his entire life, and has heard aplenty about how the doughy dinosaur has gone to all sorts of places with Kay's father and friends. That whimsey and wonder for adventure would certainly carry over into adulthood, as he could now join the Yoshi to places beyond his imagination, including a cave he had heard was of very interesting geometry. Together, the two of them enter, and at first glance, the place seems rich with minerals! Coal early up, raw ore on the way down, even some gold showed up and diamond too! It seemed that if they came in with some mining equipment, Kyle and Kay could walk away with something amazing to sell! But that's where the "interesting geometry" came into play, as parts of this deep cave system had this blocky look to it, parts of it looked like a staircase to somewhere, it was very unusual. It was something that made them both curious.

However, unsettling noises could often be heard as they traveled inside, startling Cookie quite a bit as the place was very dark too. In that darkness they would find they were not alone, as one of the openings in the cave revealed a Witch working with potions, and it seems that Cookie was in the prime spot to be struck with one she had just completed! In a matter of seconds, the squishy Yoshi was cursed and squished into the shape of a cube, matching the blocky terrain quite well! But now, he was completely immobile, and in danger of more monsters making their appearance. Skeletons, zombies, and these rigid green creatures known as Creepers. Thankfully, Kay was there to sweep the cube dude up and run back the way they came! They were known now, and Kay needed to make his escape carrying his trapped friend! Hopefully he makes it out in one piece, carrying another as well!

This is part of a series of pictures that a very close friend of mine gave me permission to reupload to my DeviantArt gallery, as he is not on any other platform at the time of this upload. This was another gift from 2020, kinda serving as a birthday present too, if I recall. This was also a random idea I had shared with him, combining transformation shenanigans with Minecraft, a game my friend had recently gotten into at the time. And lo and behold, he was actually working on it! Once again, it had been some time since we originally talked about what the premise of this picture is, but we agreed it was likely a curse from a Witch that caused Cookie to become a cube. So if anything changes, I guess I'm updating the description again!
