Made by the same legendary Hideaki Anno, featuring Sci-Fi and action elements, this series is also viewed as an in-depth psychological analysis through the lives and traits of main characters. Luckily for viewers, it was once again retold in Rebuild series of films which finally let the story have a much happier end.
