Description
Designed and built by Drachen Flugzeug, the DF-208 is a cheap and lightweight drone design intended for use in space warfare. While initially intended to be launched from Destroyers, Frigates and Corvettes, the design quickly gained interest from the Planetare Armee (PA) of the Heer branch. Wanting a cheap and efficient aircraft to deploy from their aviation cruisers and destroyers, the PA worked with Drachen to modify their version to have a pair of pontoons for water recovery. The Kriegsmarine Araxia adopted the drone fighter for deployment aboard their frigates as recon and superiority fighters, although intended to be launched in large numbers to overwhelm attacking enemy strike craft and fighters, the Wespe was only ever deployed in small numbers aboard already existing combat frigates whose main role was to engage enemy ships and were armed with offensive weapons of their own with little space to accommodate even the small drones.

Designed for use and launch aboard ships, the DF-208 Wespe could fold its wings up to reduce the amount of space it took up on deck.
