Shikai Form: The blade changes color with whatever element she is using with a black aura surrounding the blade.

Shikai Ability: To control and create mystical dark elements, which ignore most of the limitations and weaknesses of normal elements.

Background: Setsuna is an eccentric and curious girl from a well to do family in the Soul Society. She loves investigation the paranormal and the bizarre and is quite fond of western music of the late 60s to early 90s and is a huge Sailor Moon fan that she collects anything Sailor Moon related. She loves discovering new things and reads tons of books on the occult when she can. She spends her days off reading both western and eastern books on the occult and the explained, go exploring for strange paranormal phenomenon both the world of the living and the Soul Society. Or she reads Sailor Moon manga or watches the Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon Crystal animes. When she is shopping in the world of the living she buys Sailor Moon collectables or gets various music she like from the western world. When she isn’t doing anything in particular she ogles good looking Soul Reapers or Arrancars if she can get away with it.

Setsuna was born and raised by wealthy merchants in the Soul Society. She had a natural knack for magic and had a strong spiritual pressure as well. She lived a good life and when she was old enough and took the test for entering the Soul Reaper Academe she got good grade on the entrance exam. During her time at Soul Reaper Academe she had little time to socialize and tend to always be studying or having her nose in a book on the occult or the supernatural. And this caused boys to be put off by her and not be interested in her. So when her female friends got dates she was always the odd woman out and thus a rumor started about her either being gay or asexual. She was never aware of these rumors about her for years and kept going on with her studies. She had high marks till her first trip to the world of the living. She was about to kill off a hollow, or so she thought, but she ended up face to face what humans call a gray alien. The creature did see her, which did shock her, but what really scared her is when she looked in the creatures eyes and saw nothing but a black, empty void. Something that burned into her mind since, but what she found troubling from that encounter was the fact that she was an hour late from the return to the Soul Society. When her fellow students and teacher found her she was in shock and confused. And since then she wasn’t scared of hollows, but more scared of these alien creatures. And it seemed almost every time she went to the world of the living for something during said school trips she would bump into these aliens or see a UFO. For a short time her grades did suffer but she kept on pushing forward till she graduated with good grades and the rumor of her being asexual or gay. Now she is a Soul Reaper and takes her job seriously and hopes to get those rumors about her put behind her and move forward. Only time will tell.

Several times when going to the world of the living Setsuna has encountered what is known in the UFO community as Grays. These aliens spook her more than any hollow ever can. And when she is alone she tries her best to find a safe place to hide by going to Ichgo’s house, Urahara’s shop or to the Visored’s headquarters when need be, even going as far as trying to get Hueco Mundo via an open Garganta left by a random Espada. And when she is safe she tends to quietly attach herself to various people she feels the need that will comfort her till she feels calm and safe.

Relationships

Ichigo Kurosaki: Setsuna isn’t sure about him and finds him loyal and dependable, but then again egotistical and flip-floppy.

Rukia Kuchiki: Setsuna sees Rukia as a good friend that she can depend on and talk too.

Orihime Inoue: Setsuna loves the girl’s sweet nature and sense of style, but her cooking she can do without.

Uryū Ishida: Setsuna sees him as an insufferable prick that needs to be taught a huge lesson in life.

Yasutora “Chad” Sado: Setsuna sees him as a big, quiet guy with a big heart to match.

Kon: Setsuna sees him as a mix of a sick pervert and the only guy that seems to give her attention.

Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto: Setsuna sees him as a grandfather figure and a great wise man.

Soi Fon: Setsuna has a hard time trying to keep her Luna collectables away from her since Luna looks like Yoruichi.

Izuru Kira: Setsuna feels for him and understands the feeling of betrayal and heartache that he is feeling and wished they can be better friends.

Retsu Unohana: Setsuna highly respects her and fears her. But also things she is wise and loving as well.

Isane Kotetsu: Setsuna sees Isane as a wonderful and loyal person as well as a very sweet woman.

Momo Hinamori: Setsuna understands and can relate to Momo. And it is because of this she sees her as a good friend that she can trust.

Byakuya Kuchiki: Setsuna has a complicated relationship with him. She respects him and follows his orders because she is after all her captain, but then again tends to hate him and think he is a stuck up ass that needs to get laid or at least have fun.

Renji Abarai: Setsuna sees Renji as a great friend and someone that she can trust with almost anything. She respects him and hopes they can become great friends.

Sajin Komamura: Setsuna adores Captain Komamura and comes to see him when she is feeling down and upset.

Shunsui Kyōuaku: Setsuna sees him as a classic dirty old man that luckily for him has good looks and knows how to treat woman.

Nano Ise: Setsuna admires Nano’s focus and determination when it comes to work that she sometimes she wishes that she could be like Nano.

Shūhei Hisagi: Setsuna shares his love for music, reading and writing. And she would like to be friends with him better.

Tōshirō Hitsugaya: Setsuna seems to be one of the very few people that respects him and treats him with the respect of a captain.

Rangiku Matsumoto: Setsuna has mixed feeling about Rangiku. She does admire her free spirited and fun view of life, but she is jealous of Rangiku good looks and her way with men that she secretly wishes to be like her.

Kenpachi Zaraki: Setsuna sees him as nothing more than a caveman in captain’s clothing as well as a brute and a Neanderthal.

Yachiru Kusajishi: Setsuna adores Yachiru and makes sure there are sweets around when she sees the girl.

Mayuri Kurotsuchi: Setsuna gets creeped out by him to easily and tries to avoid him like the plague.

Nemu Kurotsuchi: Setsuna gets along with Nemu better and sees her as someone she might be friends with but wouldn’t know how to.

Jūshirō Ukitake: Setsuna has mixed feelings about Captain Ukitake. On one hand she sees and respects him as a father figure, on the other she sees him as a loving and handsome man.

Gin Ichimaru: Setsuna doesn’t trust him and to her he gives off this five of Satan in the Garden of Eden.

Sōsuke Aizen: She despises him. After hearing what he has done and especially what he did to Momo and Rukia, she never could forgive him.
