great picture ! a strange expression, a frightening and well-composed abstraction,
a feeling of suspens, of fear in front of the becoming ! as if we where in a hitchcock movie !
very fine !

I wouldn't change it either, the eye looks gorgeous, and the reaction of the iris to the lightness is great.

Its quite a strong picture, I wish I was as talented as you were... I really want to take some photography lessons... just to grow I guess, barely have time; but if I do a class I'll separate that time I guess.

I love the intimate tone that has the photo...Light is so good, so special feeling.
It makes me think about a cave...in the final there is the eye.

Great work and eye!!

Great photo...
maybe its because of the music I was listening to when I saw the photo (Peter Cincotti - Nature Boy) but It just gave a sense of sadness, of being alone...
thats just how I'm feeling right now.

very sweet and emotional song.. i downloaded it and viewed the photo while listening to it
and indeed it was very very moving.. thank you for that experience.

no prob
I think that sometimes the simple fact of the silence or the music you are listening to can alter dramatically the meaning of the photo... this was just a lucky coincidence.
keep up the good work

virgem-suicida In reply to iamkatia [2005-07-18 01:37:15 +0000 UTC]

yes, it's about a man who suffers from double personality. in one he's a good father, dedicated to his daughter, in the other, he's a muder, who plays psychotic games with her, mostly the "hide and seek" game
it's worth seeing

To be honest I looked at the preview size of this picture and sorta shrugged it off. Then I read your description and I figured, heck... why not fullview? Then I found myself staring at this eye and I couldn't stop. I just sat here staring at it. Everything else in the picture became irrelevant as I became engulfed in the look of this eye. I really believe that the eye is the window to the soul... but having it the only thing that you can distinctly make out leaves so much to the imagination... there's so much mystery, potential, and possibilities... behind this one eye. I think that the reason why I'm so drawn to your photography is I'm able to be taken into the pictures and let my imagination and thoughts flow. Oh wow... it's just all too cool... I can't explain it.

oh yeah, a story for you:

once upon a time 2 monks moved into a run down apartment in a big city and started raising children. interests picked up and media started doing stories about it, as it was seen as a big act of charity. the monks said that a while after they moved in they found a small child at their door so they started raising her and then more turned up. nobody really probed in any further until one network decided to get the real story and the secrets blah blah blah behind all this shbang because all the neighbors were phoning in and asking them why this was being hailed as such a great thing. they spent a few days with the monks and found out that they got the babies from mothers who abandoned them at hospitals and raised them and sold them to various sweat shops; they were essentially running a child farm.

true story

Of course you can ask
Let me see whether I know the answer...
(and btw congrats for all the comments, you'll soon need a secretary!)
So there goes: What I feel in you or coming from you is great energy, courage, enterprise, an explosion of artistic ideas, an intensely pronounced joie-de-vivre - - - and all that is expressed in that photo.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

iamkatia In reply to doriano [2005-07-13 21:04:43 +0000 UTC]

well, half of the comments are mine for one thing.
and alot of it is bantering back and forth.
and why do i feel the need to justify them, cripe.

you really see joie-de-vivre here? wow..
i love how we all have such radically different perceptions.
the Mind is a chaotic and wonderful thing, oui?

thanks for your words dear. i'm so glad i asked.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

doriano In reply to iamkatia [2005-07-13 22:02:43 +0000 UTC]

radically different perceptions, sure.
I don't know you
What i meant with joie-de-vivre was maybe not so much joie but....intensity? Zeal? Dedication? Tenacity?
but all these are just impressions, I'm not exactly a kitchen sink oracle

You don't need to justify ANYTHING.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

iamkatia In reply to doriano [2005-07-14 00:12:08 +0000 UTC]

yea, that justifying thing is absurd. i can't believe there are
still traces of that left in me. thanks for holding the mirror, dear.
