I wanted to upload this piece to show the progression of my art through a decade. There aren't many pictures to compare, but you can tell what I learned in each piece. Some may say they prefer 2015 to 2017, but this is not a bad thing. Sometimes, progressing in art is changing your drawing style, sometimes it's a coloring style, sometime's it's just expanding how many different styles you can do! In 2007 I had only been using my tablet for a year or so. My art was heavily anime influenced and immature. Again, this isn't a bad thing. Everyone needs a starting point. By 2015 I had gotten used to using the tablet. Not only this, I had highschool and community college level art classes under my belt. 2017 is showing not only my improvement with bodily proportions, but also my character designing. I kept a lot of the elements from my original drawing, but I altered it in a way that made sense for the design and character. Improving isn't just about getting better with the physical aspect. Formulating ideas and understanding certain mechanics make for a great artist. Do not worry if you don't see much change in your drawing abilities. As time goes by, you're slowly refining your craft. It's like making a sculpture. It's not all going to be done in one fell swoop, you slowly chip away to create a clearer picture.
