Description
From the film King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Excalibur is also a major player in the Arthurian legend the film is based on. Instead of Arthur recieving it from the Lady of the Lake during his reign as king, the sword was once part of the Mage king's staff, which was remade into the blade of the sword. Uther wielded it until his defeat at his brother Vortigern's hand. Tossing the sword into the air, it impaled his back and his body became the stone sheath, which would later be found and his son Arthur would take up the sword. He would use it throughout his journey and eventually face his uncle in fierce combat, which ended in Vortigern's defeat and death. After which, Arthur kept the sword as a symbol of his royal authority and knighted his most trusted allies as the knights of the fabled round table. Unlike the legend, Excalibur was made to be both the sword in the stone and the iconic blade Arthur wielded after he became king. Wielders were to be that of the Pendragon bloodline, however Vortigern is incapable of lifting it out of areas it's lodge, such as when it cut into a nearby pillar and he was incapable of taking it out. When the true wielder takes hold of the sword, the markings on the blade and the crystal on the pommel would glow a lightning blue, which also causes the wielder's eyes to glow the same color. The sword could make enhance the speed of the wielder, giving them a slower time to dodge and attack various foes and objects. When waved in a slashing motion, the sword was capable of emitting powerful shockwaves, which were capable of killing anyone in their path. Since the sword is also of a magical nature, Excalibur would break every normal weapon it clashed with, however it took much longer to destroy the Demon Knight's dual-sided scythe.
