Hmm with the white hair and mustache effect it reminds me a bit of Leslie Nielsen, a Leslie Layton perhaps. Anyway it is a very nice piece, if I voted and was not a communist/socialist I think I might have voted NDP.

I'm ignoring your not voting comment.
You can't complain about the political state of a country and then not even cast your ballot. Even if our systems a little stupid in how it tallies the votes, winning extra seats and showing support for your party is never in vain.

If voting is so great, tell me why then do we have a Harper and not an Obama of sorts? And yes i can complain it's that beautiful "free will an nature" that "God" gave us. And this thing about having to do something otherwise you cannot have an opinion on it. Do I need to stab myself to know it will hurt? Unlikely. Voting is useless, most politicians are greedy vultures. I saw something about giving money to more immigrants or something like that, instead of focusing on problems of this country. Parks that are in great need of repair, one case the people raised the money, found a contractor, but government or council came in and said "Nope sorry, didn't fill out this form" or some other bullshit, THAT WAS HERE. The law enforcement, work on getting more nurses/doctors trained.

Jack was our Obama. Sadly, our voting system turned support for the NDPs into a Conservative majority, due to massive centre-left vote-splitting.

As I said, our voting system is far from perfect. The fact that it tallies the opinions of regions rather than individuals is its biggest flaw (in my eyes, anyway) and I don't disagree that it was a method instated to keep those in power, in power. However, there is some truth in the saying "every vote counts". Even if everyone else in your riding votes Conservative, the fact that your party got your vote does help them. Even if your party doesn't get into power/into second place, it still has seats and that means it still has sway on parliament. The more seats it has = the more say it has, which is why tossing in your ballet still matters.
Also, I meant to make this comment before: we do have a Communist party running in our riding usually, but the NDP is a pretty Socialist party itself. It's not 100% Socialist, but it's really focused on the people, for the people, as opposed to feeding big companies. Because of this, they want more money towards children, seniors, education, healthcare, and small businesses.

Parties also get money when you cast your ballot, although I heard the Conservatives were hoping to get rid of this aspect of our system (which doesn't hurt them because they have lots of affluent backers).

Don't worry I know we have a communist Party, (I have a brochure)hmm you must be a gold. Look Zofia, you're not going to change my mind, I'd sooner vote for the fluffy kittens party of canada, they'd likely have more sense in out to run this place.

Well, whatever. I know that very few minds are changed that don't want to change, but I've said my piece.
The bottomline is, one can't complain when one doesn't seize the opportunity to bring about change.
I know that politicians certainly aren't the only way to affect positive change in this world and that if you do a bunch of terrible things in your everyday life but cast a vote, it doesn't magically make you a good person or whatever. When it comes down to it, you have more sway with your wallet than you do with a vote, but you should be taking every chance you can to advocate for your "teams".
