This is Tristan, a character from my webcomic, "It's Complicated." He's studying. Poor Tristan.

I did this as a "Magazine article illustration," for my illustration class where my prof. then said that my work lacks passion and encouraged me to have crazy, un-uniform lines in my next piece. Note, he says this after I have specifically SAID that I eventually want to be a published graphic novelist someday. What manga have you ever read with crazy weird lines? Comic books by Jhonen Vasquez do not count.

Speaking of my (hopeful) graphic novelist career, you can go read It's Complicated [link] another note, this is simply to teach myself to maintain deadlines and to draw the same characters repeatedly and make them look the same. Anything I do at a professional attempt will be a far cry better than this.
