New technique incoming! I've gotten interested in the idea of mossy dragons, but not that fake moss stuff that's sold in the craft store. The moss on this dragon is made entirely out of polymer clay. I'd written off the idea of polymer clay moss for years because most of the examples that I'd seen didn't look all that convincing. But now that I've given the technique a try... Oh my goodness! There's a lot of possibility there. I think the greens that I chose for this first experimental piece ended up a bit too ridiculously neon, but it's a promising starting point.
The concept for this dragon was a rocky temple dragon that hasn't moved in a long time and is starting to get a bit mossy. I really love her pose and bright eyes, but I'm especially pleased with her necklace and matching earrings.
Crafted from Premo polymer clay, jump rings, rhinestones, and custom glass eyes.
