GAH NOT THE AIR QUOTES!! ANYTHING BUT THE AIRQUOTES!!!... ya I was a little let down too at the ending. Not really because of the death... well maybe a little but there was so much questions left unanswered. I like to belive that Shepard is still alive between the two main choices (Could happen if you think about it) and that the closing line is hope for DLC or an ME4.
