Hoatzin 2 a watercolor on Canson toned oatmeal Scrapbook paper 11" X 14" done from travel photos of Hoatzin taken in Costa Rica a place I would love to visit even though I can no longer take long hikes. It is such a beautiful place with the most amazing animals and birds. If you have any pictures of tropical birds, and would like to share them...I would be happy to paint them and link to your photos. I am always in need of strange wonderful creatures to paint and draw.Related content

This is absolutely gorgeous! Your line quality is lovely and I like the coloring - it reminds me so much of vintage Audubon prints!

Thank you MrMinos! I'm glad you like it. I painted my favorite plants from Costa Rica rather than Mangrove tree branches. I will have to do it correctly next time. I want to start doing some of this stuff in oils, but it's too easy to sit in my family room with my watercolors and paints, and paint away while just relaxing and sketching other things inbetween.
