Description This is what I am working at the moment: Getting a better relationship to my hated and beloved drawing. Everything I do and everything I've ever done ends up in the fact that I have to learn to draw and that HAS to start from the basics *sigh* I tried a lot to skip some steps but that was completely useless. You really have to draw all the stuff every book tells you. That is so frustrating but a necessary part to reach my aim: Being able to express myself in Hoschie-style.

OK, I drew way better pictures in the past but that was not "really drawing". I just copied the basic lines by tracing them from the original.

This may works for a lot of projects but you will never be able to construct. Construct your ideas and dreams and so I have to learn...

So after spending a LOT of time to find ways to skip the basics, I now try to learn everything! This picture is really not perfect, but I think that I am on the right way. I really hope to
realise my own stuff some day in a good quality. Being able to draw will improve my photographing skills as well and I really have to train.. In the past I failed a lot by realising MY pictures, pictures from my heart and mind just because of my shitty drawing skills....

So my resolution for the next time: Improving my skills and become a better artist. This will help me for gorgeous cat-pictures too

Your proportions are a little bit off, and though it looks fairly good aside from that, the emotion on the face is extremely stiff. To help correct that, you should try drawing from life a bit more. Get a few friends to pose for you, or get a mirror and become your own model. Once you've got the basics down, try to loosen your lines up a bit. It will give your subject a more natural look, and give you a bit of a better base to work off of before tightening up on your linework.

I know what you mean regarding having to learn everything... I found it so tedious at first... but the more you draw the more fun it is and the better you get
The sketch is really very good
