Description
A tiny tiny bit of a scene from "Cain's Last Stand," a Ciaphas Cain novel by author Sandy Mitchell.This was for the first of the Weekly Art Challenges on Tumblr: to draw part of a book in comic form.
I am reminded why I don't draw much 40k fanart: everything requires something like 5 reference images. And even then I kind of just went "FUCK IT, WIRES AND TUBES TIME" with the servitors.

Best portrayal of Jurgen I've seen yet. Is there a chance of you doing more of these? I can think of a half-dozen other scenes that would be awesome to see. The best one being facing down everyone in the cafeteria when he stumbles upon the riot.

IIRC, he shaves it off during one of the novels. Cain remarked on it being Not An Improvement.
That or I dreamed it. It's been a while since I read the books.

It's possible, I still have to read The Last Ditch and Emperor's Finest, but it's always been suggested in the others that Cain is too scared of what may be under it to make Jurgen shave

It is legitimately awesome. Also, "wires and tubes time" is prefectly legitimate for 40K tech, everything not Space Marine-ish has thousands of different styles and patterns...
