Description Hinoto Model/Costumer: Me!
Photographer: Angelwing ([link] )

Princess Hinoto is "blessed" with the ability to see the future in her dreams, and hopes for a better future for Earth and mankind, even though her psychic dreams told her her team would fail. At one point her dark side took over and Hinoto defeated it by killing herself in the Dreamscape World (which ended her life in the real world) *according to the anime series, not the movie or manga*

Hinoto Costume: The wig was purchased cosplay.com, and was actually a fabulous buy! The only complaint I had about it is the front where the bangs attached is elastic, so parting the wig in front would have looked bad. *pout* I styled the hair in the actual style using tons of AquaNet hairspray, holding it in place with wire and sewing pins until it dried. The crown was made of thin brass that was shaped and wired together on top of a hairclip. The red rope was knotted and tied in bows to reflect my reference picture. For the kimono itself: I used Simplicity pattern 4080 and LOTS of white bridal satin and some red dull satin. The inner coat was made with a white top and red skirt, with two godets sewn in the back to allow the skirt to flare in a circular shape. The outer jacket was made with two layers of bridal satin so the inner jacket red wouldn't show through. I modified the sleeves so that it was red on the inside and white on the outside (two layers of white bridal satin was used so that the red satin didn't show through. I also sewed two godets in the back of the outer jacket to create the circular flair you'd see in the anime series. The obi belt was heavily modified. Four snaps hold the belt closed in the back. The silver fabric pieces in the back are held onto the obi by two snaps apiece. The bow breaks down into two parts: the ribbons and the bow itself. The ribbons snap onto the obi, and the bow snaps onto the ribbons. Gold ribbon was laced through the ribbons and bow to create a textured look.

Sadly, Hinoto isn't very recognized anymore, but the costume was still well received! I will cosplay this as often as the Texas heat allows me to. ♥
