Having succesfully  ambushed a macropodid of considerable size, the python won´t have to feed again for weeks, maybe months.
Liasis dubudingala ("strangling ghost") lived in Australia during the Pliocene, and was the largest snake known to have lived there; it has been estimated at around 9-10 m. Certain features of its skeleton would suggest it was either arboreal or aquatic, or maybe even a bit of both. I generally like imagining it green so it could blend with its environment, making it a "ghost" invisible to most prey. However, the "ghost" part also inspired this fanciful doodle, with an albino Liasis dubudingala that managed against all odds to grow to full adult size .

“Mobey Dick” was inspired bye a real albino whale, so albinos do beat the odds on occasion.
