Marceline is sick. Very sick, and Finn knows this. Finn shouldn't have let her take his backpack. He shouldn't have let her see what's inside. He should have stopped her from eating the soup Jake made. Jake didn't know that she would take the soup and drink it, teasing Finn. Then, she got sick. Finn didn't know Jake had put Garlic Powder in the soup, there's no way he could have known. Aren't vampire's supposed to have a sense for these things?!
They'd been stuck under this glob forsaken tree for what seems like hours now. Jake was supposed to be back with the cyclops tears ages ago. What was keeping him? Finn has tried moving her, but she couldn't handle it. He was going to lose her.

"Finn..." She says weakly. He continues to hold her in his arms.
"Yeah," He barely manages the reply.
"Thanks for not leaving me and all..." She says. He can feel her starting to go limp. The garlic is basically melting her from the inside out.
"Marcie?" He says cautiously. Then, panic sets in as he realizes what's happening.
"Marice! No! Hold on, I can get us to the Candy Kingdom in like two seconds! Just hold on!" She puts a finger to his lips.
"Shh...it's ok," She says. This doesn't comfort him, it just makes him worry more.

"Marcie...."
"Sing to me," She says and closes her eyes. "Just do it, weenie." And he does as he is told. He sings the one song that helped him to sleep as a child, the one song that comforted him no matter what was happening. He sings his mother's lullabye.
"That's cute..." She says and smiles. "Except you're not a puppy. Well, maybe you kinda are," She says and pats the ears on his hat. "Thanks for everything, Finn." Then, her hand falls and she's gone.

"Marcie...MARCIE!" Finn shouts as the rain clouds come to play, leaving him with nothing but the sound of water pounding the Earth and the shell of the girl he once loved clutched tightly in his arms.

Yeah, it's sad. What inspired this is a show called "House", dunno if many of you have heard of it. The particular episode for said inspiration is called "Wilson's Heart" and it has to be the saddest thing I have ever watched.
Also, the songs "Run" by Snow Patrol, "Wasted Years" by Cold, "Tonight" by Seether and "Your Guardian Angel" by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus helped. (Why does it seem like every song on my Ipod depressing? -_-; haha)
I've also been reading some sad fics here lately...
Another thing, I had a REALLY awesome version of this drawing that I was working on, but my computer decided that it was time to update windows while Heather left for two seconds and shut everything down D= Oh I was so upset! So this is my best replica of it =/ So it's not that great, bah! (ノò__ó)ノ彡┻━┻ But it gets the point across haha. And nobody take this too seriously, like with Vampire logic "She would have known" and stuff, it's just a story. I like doing this whole story thing...I might do more.
