Description

Valkyries are sometimes seen as Goddesses in some folklore but they originally serve as guides, to bring the dead to Odin, namely to Valhalla. It is possible that over time, Valkyries get mixed up with the dísir, and therefore, Valkyries have been changed from peaceful guides to steadfast warriors.

As a denizen of the Fortress serving the Element of Frost, the Valkyrie still retains her old folklore trait of being a guide. As they patrol the lands of Frost, they often guide lost travelers and other denizens of the Frost back to the Fortress, for it is easy to get lost in a land constantly covered with snow and sleet. Their shining armour serves as a beacon as well for no matter how bad a blizzard or storm may be, everyone can see it gleaming.

In some ways, the Element of Frost is also a representation of the Moon, as many of its Gods are associated with the Moon. The same can be said of the Valkyrie for in battle, she shines as brightly as the moon in darkness, giving way to hope in the darkest of situations, guiding her people into victory.
