This is something I would paint, a church in a vast field left in ruins.  As to ask where did the flock go.  I would paint a sheep or two possibly a wolve in the foregroud just set up a little tension.  Personally I think its a great capture, .. reminds me of an Andrew Wyeth painting.  Of how I would set up a compositon may very to the latter!!!
