More pseudo realism. More acrylic.A better attempt, I think, but then, I had less to tackle. Realism becomes easier to do in short periods of time when I have fewer colors to handle.
This scan is particularly horrible. My scanner hates acrylic and especially dark colors but my camera wouldn't do any better. Sorry, guys! I tried to clean it up in photoshop as best I could but it's still not as good as the original.

If it's not as good as the original, the original must be A.M.A.Z.I.N.G O.O Ib love the detail on the fur, and the stormy bachground gives it a great atmosphere

If you don't know what I'm talking about, click this [link] it's a documentary about an awesome wolf, he is nick named "Black Wolf" the bravest and most wonderful wolf I've ever heard of. If you get the time watch it and honor him.

BRILLANT! He looks alive with that smoke coming out of his mouth! And the way the light bounces off the fur really brings him to reality! <3 May I ask you what media you used for this?

One idea that might work; try taking a photo outside, in natural daylight, without the flash.
Obviously wait for a nice sunny day, with no wind.

How do you paint the white fur on the top so fine? I always have trouble stopping my colours from blending when I try detail like that.

I really like that one though I have to admit that this wolf reminds me more of a silver fox. Its snout is a bit small (like in ... slender and pointy) and the highlights on the fur on the forehead make it seem like the fur of a silver fox and not black fur with highlights ... :/
Shape and size of the eyes as well as those of the eyeholes and the forehead are clearly those of a wolf, though.
Anyways, I really like that one.
