More painting practice.I'm not certain of the size and will not be able to measure it until it's finished blotting. It's done in acrylic. I started with a grisaille and went over it with blue glaze and then added more white for the warmer glow.
I used a lot of indirect reference for this one, studying photos, and still managed to get a lot incorrect. I've discovered that painting (and art making in general) is very much a matter of striving for a goal, failing, heaving a sigh and saying: I'll get what I want next time. You never do get exactly what you want, but at least you get better.

Those eyes are staring into my soul. How do you paint all of the fine furs. Is it layered on and what kind of brush is used?

And better is what you aim for, mayhap in the back of your mind. Whatever the case, this is pretty, if not super correct. The color and feel matters more than other things.

the details, the proportions... all is convained and formed into a perfect snow leopard. and the eyes, the eyes tell anything, good art!

I think if you added more life colors to his eyes it would give more contrast to the rest of the picture :3 But it's beautifull anyways <3

I think this turned out beautifully and I love your comment on how an artists mind works. I find this happens with myself ALOT...and I haven't even managed to open a tube of the oil paints I recently acquired!

Darn skippy! I just have to look up techniques and other such things before I do. I know oils can be smelly and know that they can be watered down for washes with a certain chemical. Just gotta look it up!

oh man i had no idea eyes could be hungry until i saw this picture and knew i had been hungry for a long time and finally felt satisfied, the lighting is brilliant and the textures and everything leaves such an impact! i can't believe this is just a "practice" it makes me a little afraid of what you can do 8000000

Usually I don't, but this time I employed a fan brush for the hair. It lends to a softer look but the direction of the hair is all parallel and makes it look kind of stiff.
