yes this one is on the bristol. i really like it alot. i do have to shave about a fourth of an inch off each edge so itll fit my scanner but its well worth the effort. you should see me at work tryin to draw this stuff. i have app. 650 horses of cat deisel screamin outside all day vibrating the crap out of my work area. but when i get home and sit at the table im like in heaven but i figure its all good

dont that just bite the dust....and then youll run out of paper again....thats how it usually goes...and i try to stay out of hobby lobby as much as i can....i could spend hours in there and EASILY a few hundred bucks on art stuff....very dangerous place.

hey man....i think i got my check allready...should of been direct deposited....should of got it may 1st.....i heard it goes off of the last two digits of your SSN...unfortunatly im not gonna stimulate the economy....i gotta save that 900 for stuff for the kid....bills...shit llike that....and since i had to spend 180 on welding equipment yesterday and 4000 on my next course. I think my smartest move is to just save it....
but hey have fun spendin yours!! its fun shopping for drawing stuff huh??? speakin of which....have seen those markers at hobby lobby...their by the sharpies i think....there the kind that professional car artists use to draw vehicles....they blend with eachother...they're refillable. and they have a shitload of colors....downside is they cost almost 6 bucks A MARKER!! man o man ....if i had the money... i would LOVE buy them...

when i went to hobby lobby over the weekend i did notice a whole bunch of new stuff in the pen section but i was pressed for time so i in'd and out'd but i made a mental note to get back and really take some time to see whats up. they have so much stuff im always thinking " with the proper tools ". hell i didnt know what a french curve was till i read it on one of your comments on your drawing i think. so i give you credit for that !! the drawing books they have to teach technique look pretty interesting too. so i dont know how much economy i'll stimulate but im sure it'll stimulate my imagination

very cool my friend...people like us could spend alot of time and money in the drawing section of hobby lobby...i think the same thing about "with the proper tools....." hell i didnt even know what french curves were either until i momentarily got into drawing cars.....they come in really handy....and once you learn how to use them for their full potential u can do pretty cool things with them....i got this idea im gonna run by u here real quick only cuz i think u might be interested in trying it out...ive bought some scrapbooking sheets....you know with the cool themes and backgrounds....how cool would it be to get some really cool paper and draw on that and have the designs be the background of your drawings??? i def. think it would jazz things up....it be really cool to draw on instead of just plain white paper.....only thing is that i dont like is that the background isnt YOUR art....but ya i got quite a few sheets with some cool designs that could really fit some drawing ideas i got.....just an idea i had thought maybe you would find it interesting....

hey that sounds pretty cool i know in the past i have really thought about drawing on a fancy piece of stationary. they do have some cool colors and stuff. but the scrapbooking angle is a new one. now you've just given me something else to look into. a friend suggested that i try using tissue paper also. but i dont know where its at in the hobby lobby. when i go next time im gonna have to really take my time and look. maybe even get a cart and walk around. another thing im lookin at is that scratchboard stuff. never done that before, have you ? it kinda sucks around here since i know of nobody that does any kind of art so i appreciate the tips and heads up on here when i get em

JEMDOT In reply to hesterkin [2008-05-06 05:21:15 +0000 UTC]

i thought you would like that idea.....plus great minds think alike...hobby lobby has got a shitload of scrapbook pages with so many cool designs and what i like to call color vibes....and just with all the cool designs you could design your ideas around it....i bet it would fit good with your style too....ive heard of the tissue paper idea....but never heard how it works or how you do it and what you do with it. the only time i scratched board is back in 6th or 7th grade...i did an eagle that cameout half way decent. havent tried it since....but ive seen bad ass pieces......u should give it a try....exploring defferent mediums of art can only make you a better artist. and mixing medias is fun too....thats why i like to do my spraypaint thing too....not that good but its still fun....i want to try wood carving but i probably wont get to it for a while....just things i want to try out sometime during life...hey man i totally feel u on not having anyone around to talk art with. its cool to have friends to bounce ideas off of and get critisizm....and oh ya speaking of hobby lobby i always notice the electronic pencil sharpeners....still to this day i still sharpen my pencils with a hand sharpener...u know the ones you twist....i guess im cheap...i dont know...

hey dont feel bad about the pencil sharpener. i just went and sprung a buck for a new one. twist type too.you know with all these different venues and/or avenues in which we can go down or different directions we can take our art its sure sweet that we have a competent imagination that enables us to do it. i guess thats half the fun of it. seeing what we can come up with.

ya u got that right....art can be done kickass so many ways.....thats what makes this site THE SHIT lol.....u see someone elses art and u just try to imagine what they have to be thinking about or what they're invisioning in there mind to create there art.....my arts unique, your arts unique...etc.....thats the kickass thing about art....gotta love it..

really love this one, very nice work. what size paper are you working on, just out of curiosity? I don't know about you, but a lot of my smaller sharpie drawings I start without a definite image in mind; it's usually more interesting to just go and see what happens. Do you work like that or do you do more planning beforehand?

thank you very much im using strathmore drawing paper currently which is 9"x 11". its really smooth paper and ive only drawn a couple of drawings with it but i really like it. like yourself i usually dont have any idea whats gonna happen. i might have a starting point or idea. this drawing i knew i wanted some striped legs but that was about it. the rest just kinda developed. thats where im most comfortable just seeing what happens.

you dont have to make up things they make up you. You just put you hand down on the paper and your drawings take control
