"As the first entry in a series of "Behind the Scenes" drawings, I present to you, one of the backgrounds used in my introduction video:

In the process of animation, one of the things I find to be the greatest irony is the amount of effort you have to put into the backgrounds, only for them to show up for brief seconds at a time.

I was reminded this when I made the introduction animation for the opening cinematic; One particular background was actually four parts layered on-top of each-other, using some rudimentary parallaxing to ensure a sense of depth.

While this is by no means a majestic example of timeless artwork, the (relatively short) amount of time I put into it might not seem worth its extremely short screentime. But, that's just the nature of the beast."
