I love this! I especially like that you used traditional colours. I just wish that I would have gotten on here earlier so I would have seen it before Christmas. Oh well.

Well, technically, it's still Christmas. The last day of Christmas is on January 6. And thank you for the kind words, Chrisco. Always.Β

Aw, thank you, Pixey. It was a great piece to work on. The Kaleidoscope plugin really helped.

This is amazing, Helen!! I am blown away!!
I don't seem to have the holiday spirit yet this year...
But this is so pretty...absolutely lovely!

HelenLight In reply to Rhonda---Young [2014-11-30 23:32:59 +0000 UTC]

The best thing to do to get into the Christmas spirit is to maybe adopt a family for Christmas or just buy gifts kind of like "Toys For Tots" or something like that. How about volunteering in a homeless shelter? Listening to Christmas music also helps--well, it does for me, at least. I've been listening to it since July.Β

Thank you, Rhonda. I appreciate your kind words.

Thank you, Helen. Although we don't celebrate Christmas,
the same wisdom applies. Doing something to help others
usually makes the giver feel better. We could donate clothes,
coats, food, and bedding to the local shelters and offer to help
outΒ the elderly in town. When depression sets in, people tend
to focus too much on themselves and their problems. Focusing
on someone else takes your mind off yourself and actually
makes you feel like you've done something worthwhile. Thank
you for reminding me of that.

My company is helping out with a dinner for the homeless and I'll be volunteering. My family and I has been helping the needy families for as long as I remember even though we were poor ourselves. It's always better to help someone than yourself.

Really! My pleasure. I know how it is. I start with something
that I thinks looks cool and after about 10 different versions, it takes
on a life of it's own and many hours later it's nothing like the first one.
