19 Days in the Daimyo’s Garden

“Tabu”

I finally did it!

What about the travel of He Tian and Mo Guan Shan to Feudal Japan to Jian Yi and Zhan Zheng Xi?

Oh, I love to making up the stories for my lovely characters x3

I know that the original manhwa is Chinese. However, why not? Now, I’m passionate about studying Japanese costumes, hence the practice. It definitely inspires many stories in my head

To make the characters close to their origins, I gave some background to their story. If you take a closer look at He Tian, you can see that the “kamon” (patrimonial emblem) on his clothes belongs to Shimazu (a Japanese samurai clan that existed from the Kamakura period to the Edo period, ruling on Satsuma, Osumi and Hyugi).

According to a family legend, Shimazu are descendants of ancient immigrants from China who descended from Qin Shi Huang-di (creator and ruler of the first centralized Chinese state). Interesting, right?

I think Mo in this story may be the son of a samurai who faithfully served the previous daimyo Shimazu, but who die/d in one of the uprisings. Without a breadwinner, his family went through difficult times and almost became impoverished.

So we can assume that I drew fanfiction x)

Last time I depicted symbolic flowers for Jian Yi and Zhan Zheng Xi, which, in my opinion, could personify them.

He Tian and Mo Guan Shan also received their flowers!

I think an “edelweiss” (white flower on the left) would be perfect for He Tian. As for Mo Guan Shan “sensitive plant” (Mimosa pudica - pink flower).

And yeah, they are surrounded by yellow camellia flowers As the rose in their hands this also has its own meaning.
