Working on backgrounds today! Notably, getting more backgrounds into the game, so a little bit of programming and a little bit of art.This is the 'garden path' background, done by our background artist Vui.

The top one is his work, and then I drafted up the night and evening variant based off of that.
I keep wanting to go "extra" with this project, and have him do every variation on each background since he's a great artist. But That all costs money and time. Do you think these variants I've drafted up work? Or should I pay him to do the additional variations?

This is all art for/related to "The Collector" visual novel!
A game where you play one of several kidnapping victims, forced to take on new identities in their kidnappers supposed utopia. Discover who each victim was before, is now, and try to affect the future in a world where the abuser makes all the rules

I agree with Regina316 . You nearly convinced me that you made all three backgrounds at first. How you changed the lighting in the night and evening settings are convincing. They don't look like the same image with only its color changed. Keep up the good work!

As someone who only caught this by a happy accident and knows nothing at all about you and your style, I couldn´t tell that these three weren´t (completely) made by the same person. So I´d say, feel free to make the variations yourself!

All look very good! They have this elegant simplicity to them. Despite that I still think it was probably hard to paint them. Wish I was this talented!
