A really interesting exploration of that fable last straw. Most often i have found that it is an outside force that tosses that last little straw on the load that collapses the camel down. This portrait is fascinating in the sense of how the Lass looks as if she is struggling, lunging, using all in her to force her reach to exceed her grasp as she fights to go after that one last straw herself. you wonder if she hasn't a clue, or a very clear idea of what one more bit on the burden will do as she works so hard herself to bring the outcome about.
