Violette is courageous after the violent event. She explains her husband: “ After the scar healing, I’ll simply put on a shoe on my right and a prosthetic foot on my left. And I’ll walk again. For now, it’s strange to have this footless leg hanging useless between my crutches.” The realty is not so easy. After 2 or 3 hours wearing her prosthesis, she becomes pain to her stump, and she retires her prosthesis to go back on crutches.

Yesterday, she walked all the afternoon on prosthesis at cabinet. Today, her stump remains light painful, and she uses crutches. Violette takes her car for shopping. The stops in front of an antique store. She jumps out the car, she takes her crutches and open the door. She looks to find two brass candlesticks to take place in her living room. She moves carefully on her crutches in the narrow passage, looking not to let fall an object. In a dark angle, she finds an old prosthesis. She asks the antiquarian: “May I test it on my leg?” “Yes you can”. She seats on an armchair and tries to put her stump in the prosthesis. The leather upper part is around her thigh and two articulated parts on both sides of her knee connect it to the socket. She stands up. It seems to be the good size: “Whaouh, the foot allows to wear high heels. How many?” she asks. “200 Euros!” “I take it, can you put it in the trunk of the car, in front of your door?” She pays, go out and opens her car. The antiquarian brings the prosthesis, wo looks dusty on the sun.

Violette stops on a drugstore. She asks for special grease to take care of leather. The merchant gives her the grease used by the riders for horse harness. He also suggests Violette to clean leather with glycerine soap using little water. Violette buys both things and put them on her backpack. Arriving home, Violette goes in and put her backpack in the kitchen. In her sleeping room, she put a flat shoe and gets a modern prosthesis equipped with the other shoe of the same pair. Okay, she can walk without pain. She holds her new acquisition out of the car and begins to clean the prosthesis beside the kitchen sink. She grabs a cloth and carefully wipes the leathers. She put the prosthesis on the table, opens the grease box and sit down. She uses an old toothbrush to put the grease on each leather piece.

Violette takes the prothesis to her room and equips it with a high heel shoe. She retires her dress to avoid give it grease. She wears only her bra and her panties. She retires her modern prosthesis and tries to wear the antique one. The previous user has clearly a stump one centimeter longer than hers. She retires the prosthesis and fills it with cotton wadding and wears it new. She put on her right foot the other shoe of the pair. She stands up and walks with crutches to give her security until the full high mirror. She feels comfortable and secure. She walks back to her bed. She walks, looking herself in the mirror; this time, she has crutches int the hands, but without using them. When she returns, she puts crutches in the corner. She walks many times to the mirror and back. She has quite no limping and her stump has no pain. This old prosthesis looks not very nice; but is very comfortable and efficient. When she walks back, she hears the main door opening. She calls loud: “Honey, I stay in our bedroom!”

Victor comes to her, embraces her and asks at her ear: “May I put you on our bed, may retire your prosthesis and your underwear?”

”I feel as we could conceive a child today!”

“If you are anxious about becoming pregnant and having a child, I’ll stop at once. But if you are ready, I am happy becoming father and to take care of our baby.”

“ Yes, I am anxious, but it’s the moment. Do as you say. I want next to be naked in your arms. ”
