Ah! Guys like this are super fun to make! I really like combining different elements in this way: a bit of soft lovely felt, graphic images of gears and a barcode (designed and printed by me!) and then some actual metal gears attached too (on his little posable leggies!). The addition of the bum-flap is a bit of fun too! Cool toys for big kids!Anyway, Lychee McGearbox is a clunkity mechanism-filled, clockwork kinda guy, who has a fondness for oil cans. If you have similar interests, you might consider adopting him !

Omg hanna I totally stumbled across this looking for inspiration and ideas for a magazine cover for a school assignment.. the cover is titled "Patchwork Mechanic" and is supposed to be steam punk related. Holy beans what are the odds. I hadn't seen this on your etsy or Facebook but its totally awesome and has given me some cool ideas.

The bum flap really does pull it all together! You just have such a great imagination for all this! Did you start out making these guys from your own ideas, or did you start with other patterns? Are they handsewn? Love that gear fabric!

I have always made my dolls up, I've never made one from a pattern before (though it took a while to get any good, lots of trial and error, and they were pretty terrible in the beginning! maybe learning from patterns first would have helped! haha!)
