Warhammer 40K fanart of an Assault Marine Sergeant from the Executioners Chapter clad in Artificer Armour based on the Mark VI 'Corvus' Pattern Power Armour with an attached jump pack, and armed with a Power Axe.

Character Biography:

Axe-Sergeant Kordas Romatorn was a squad leader of the Executioners Chapter 2nd Company's 8th Assault Squad during the Badab War. Prior to the aforementioned conflict, Axe-Sergeant Romatorn was once a Axe-Brother during the Battle of Carrion Deep where he and his brothers from the 8th Assault Squad of the 2nd Company fought against the Necrons. However, as the fight goes on, Axe-Brother Romatorn's sergeant and some battle brothers from his squad were slain by the nightmarish metallic xenos' gauss weaponry but nevertheless he fought on as he led the few surviving members of his squad to rendezvous with High Chaplain Thulsa Kane in an attempt to break out the ambush laid by their xenos foes. After surviving the ambush on Carrion Deep, Axe-Brother Romatorn would be given with the honorific rank of Axe-Sergeant of the 8th Assault Squad.

As the Badab War broke out, Axe-Sergeant Romatorn joined with his Chapter in the Secessionist cause led by Lufgt Huron, Chapter Master of the Astral Claws and the self-proclaimed "Tyrant of Badab", and he partook in the Battle of Khymara's lunar outposts by fighting against the Loyalist forces of the Howling Griffons Chapter. Once the Executioners inflict enough damage on the Loyalist forces and achieved their primary objective, they immediately withdraw the battle.

Sometime later, Axe-Sergeant Romatorn was present aboard the "Night Hag" where he accompanied High Chaplain Thulsa Kane during the peaceful surrender of the Salamanders Astartes aboard the Battle Barge "Pyre of Glory". While negotiations were on-going, an Astral Claws boarding party led by Arch-Centurion Carnac Commodus assaulted the "Pyre of Glory" in an attempt to slay the surrendering Salamanders and pillage their gene-seed. Enraged by this breach of honour and the treachery of the Astral Claws, Axe-Sergeant Romatorn would later protect the Salamanders and fight against his former allies as slew them relentlessly until he was slain in battle by the hands of a Retaliator Veteran aboard the Astral Claws Cruiser "Hycarnia".

As depicted here which was captured by a Skull Probe during the Battle of Khymara's lunar outpost, Axe-Sergeant Kordas Romatorn was clad in an Artificer Armour based from the Mark VI 'Corvus' Armour with elements from the Mark V 'Heresy' Armour for the greaves and right pauldron. Like other Assault Squads, his armour has an attached Mark VII Jump Pack to perform high-powered jumps across the field of battle. In addition, he was armed with a two-handed Power Axe as his preferred weapon in melee combat, and holsters a relic Volkite Serpenta as his range weapon in dire situations.

Notes: The skulls and other grizzly fetishes attached onto Axe-Sergeant Kordas Romatorn's armour as well as the blood splats indicate the tally of kills he earned before and during the Badab War.
