just revisiting some of my older photography...at the start i was going to do this in b&w, but
fell in love with the current result.
Old chimney leading to the heavens, sort of Babilonian
tower inspired. Us trying to reach the "divine" one!

Light is drowned out, more contrast or a little more light is needed pointing out the middle in the composition makes photograph outright boring.

as the smoke goes on wards it begs to question of what the reference to God is. An interesting reference seeing God actually came from the translation of Breath and with this we can feel god, and we can not truly see or can only minimally understand God. I feel connected so very vividly within your picture seeing as we go higher we feel connected to that higher presence known as God.

Hrm... Maybe it would seem more heavenly if you manipulated it a little bit to give a "bright" sky or something though.

Great photo. The perspective is wonderful. I think you were right to go with colour b/c I think the textures of the brick and the detail of the stairs and especially the rope would have been lost. How tall was this? Looks like it goes on forever!
