I wonder if as she grew up on earth and understood what friendship actually meant, she made plans to go back to earth for Spinel but as Rose; obviously pink had a lot of demons from a young diamond raised under a dysfunctional family of sorts to the point where the abuse she faced made her do things she wouldn't have as rose. When she grew up and understood right and wrong better, I like to think she had TONS of regrets; especially since half her friends were killed or corrupted and the emotional damage that came along with it. One of those could have been going back for Spinel but as Rose. Unfortunately she couldn't due tot he diamonds' final attack. Obivously she wanted Steven to find Bismuth and felt he could save earth and create a new era for gem kind; maybe she felt he could do the same with Spinel.

honestly it seems that the part with Pink felt rushed and convoluted since pink was seem as a screw up for being fun and etc. that's just me though. If anything I could see Pink already feeling guilty that she was dragging pearl into the war and only made spinel stay behind because she didn't wanna drag her into it either. again that's just me
